Judd Apatow’s latest movie, Funny People, is wildly inconsistent and borderline depressing. It is a 150-minute film that should have come in at 120, which would have been possible without losing anything other than an ultimately unnecessary and unsatisfying arc featuring the director’s wife. It is indulgent, and it is unfortunate.
